Bible
perspectives and Christian contradictions
The Bible is a tremendous, almost miraculous compendium of wisdom
and lore that has been handed down to the present world from its
ancient origins. Yet its nature and history are seldom truly
understood.
The origins
of Christianity
Despite all of this literature continuously being cranked out and
the significance of the issue, in the public at large there is a
serious lack of formal and broad education regarding religion and
mythology, and most individuals are highly uninformed in this
area.
The
Rejection Of Pascal's Wager
" This site presents the "fruits" of my intellectual journey from
being a believing Christian into a convinced atheist. The journey
was tumultous, sometimes exasperating, but always interesting.
The journey has taken me twelve years, but it has been worth it.
The freedom to think for yourself, to live life to the fullest,
to be a happy and moral human being have been the rewards of this
journey."

Goofy Guide to religion
How did Jesus become God?
If we turn to the New Testament records looking for the
historical evidence of the objective process by which Jesus
became the Christ, then what we find are subjective judgments or
proclamations which simply sound as if they are objective.

Biblical Errancy
by Dennis McKinsey
Yet, no amount of theological reasoning can make an inherently
unjust idea seem right. Punishing billions of people for the acts
of one is not only inherently unfair and unwarranted but also in
opposition to other Biblical verses.
Scientific Boo-Boos in the Bible
Bibliolaters claim that the Bible is inerrant in every detail, in
matters of history, science, geography, chronology, etc., as well
as faith and practice. It is a claim that has won wide acceptance
among fundamentalist Christians, but, as is true of most zealotic
tributes that have been paid to the Bible, it has no basis in
fact.

Explore the fallacy of born-again, fundamentalist Christianity
and the dynamics of being "saved".
New Testament Contradictions
Matthew and Luke give two contradictory genealogies for Joseph
(Matthew 1:2-17 and Luke 3:23-38). They cannot even agree on who
the father of Joseph was.
Biblical contradictions
The Bible is riddled with repetitions and contradictions, things
that the Bible bangers would be quick to point out in anything
that they want to criticize.
A sceptical
view of liberal religion
Less attention has been devoted to examining the more liberal
churches. These include the Catholic Church, liberal in the sense
of not considering the Bible to be literally true.
Biblical contradictions
For instance, Genesis 1 and 2 disagree about the order in which
things are created, and how satisfied God is about the results of
his labors.
Biblical Errors
The Bible contains many passages which seem to contradict other
passages. Unbelievers, skeptics and modernist Christians see
these passages as evidence the Bible contains errors.
Bible Biology
Some inerrantists, for example, have absurdly seen evidence that
the Bible foresaw the potential for using electricity to send
messages.
The

Many evangelical Christians tremble with excitement at the

Cretinism or

"Cretinism" (i.e., "a congenital deficiency resulting in

evangelists."

Unfortunately, the Bible, particularly the Old Testament is quite
overrated. Its reputation depends on people not actually reading
it for themselves and discovering what utter silliness comprises
the bulk of it.
If it wasn't for agnosticism, I wouldn't know what to
believe
Bible errors, contradictions, exaggerrations, pious lies, poor
science, failed prophecies, even bad grammar. The realization
that Christians were not superior to other people, did not really
know more about what was going on, but that they had their own
little reality tunnel, like most other groups.

Battleground
God
Can your beliefs about religion make it across our intellectual
battleground?
Why the
Christian God is Impossible
Christians consider the existence of their God to be an obvious
truth that no sane man could deny. I strongly disagree with this
assumption not only because evidence for the existence of this
presumably ubiquitous yet invisible God is lacking, but because
the very nature Christians attribute to this God is
self-contradictory.
Giving religion a bad name
Whatever the answer, faith in the revealed Word of the Creator is the only reasonable starting point for all such inquiry.
The
Demonic Possession Handbook
Welcome to the Dark Ages: " "Flagg, Koresh, Jim Jones, Hitler --
they're all basically the same guy." This is just one more
example of how the entertainment world has a much better grasp of
the concept of demon possession than do most people in the
evangelical church world."

The Cutting Edge
"Most of us think of the Smurfs as cute, harmless little blue and
white aliens. However, the story line is full of occultism. Papa
Smurf is cast in the role of a "White" Witchdoctor who is
protecting his people by incantations and rituals and potions.
Gargamel is cast in the role of the "Black" or evil witchdoctor
who is always trying to cast some evil spell over the poor,
helpless Smurfs so he can control them forever. "

Toledoth Yeshu
This is a derogatory version of the life of Jesus, growing out of
the response of the Jewish community to Christianity. The
tradition presented here is most commonly dated to approximately
the 6th century CE. The text it self is closer to the 14th c.
There is no scholarly consensus on to what extent the text might
be a direct parody of a now lost gospel. H.J. Schonfield argued
that it was so closely connected to the Gospel of the Hebrews
that he attempted to reconstruct that lost work from the
Toledoth.
